I have been trying to work today. My boss has been Mr. Chatty Cathy, and I haven’t seemed to get much done. Despite that, I’m feeling pretty calm. We streamlined (and by “we” I mean “him”) a few processes this week that are going to ease my workload tremendously.
This boss I have, I adore. He can be a grump, a jerk, and as he call’s himself, an “idiot”, but he is also really smart. He has no people skills, but down inside is a heart of gold. I’m the type of person who can get very sarcastic and terse; I have a tough outer skin, partially in thanks to the evil ex-boss whom I mentioned in a previous post.
Work is such a huge part of my life, its great when it goes well. I think at this age, I have also gained some clarity in my own work habits, what is easy for me, what is hard for me, and how to work around that.
I walked around all day today with a spot of chili on my pink t-shirt. That was my day. One mishap after another, but it has all worked out OK. Now I need to go home and pretend to like salmon so that my kids will eat it. I don’t know if I can do it. I really don’t like fish at all. I love shellfish, but fish itself gags me. But I want them to eat it, and to learn to like it, so I’m going to force myself to start eating it. I would really love to learn to like it as well, but I’m afraid that won’t happen, the best that I can hope for is I can get it down without running to the bathroom to puke.
It’s the weekend, and I’m so so happy about that. Maybe I can take my 4-wheeler out for a spin in the snow??
That's funny. I don't eat fish either unless it comes out of a can. I refuse to cook it because of the way it makes the house smell. So I make tuna casserole and Rach likes fish sticks. I figure that combined with the occasional shrimp dish is plenty for us.
ReplyDeleteI love my boss too. She brings me Chai tea and is thee most awesome woman. Much better than my old evil boss who just got invited to leave the company that we both worked for. Karma is beautiful.
I detest fish, with the exception of tuna fish sandwiches or tuna casserole.
ReplyDeleteI somehow managed to produce a child who LOVES all fish and one of her favorite "treats" is to eat sardines right out of the tin. It makes me want to gag when I see her lift them out by the tails and drop them down her gullet like a little penguin.
EWW.
Z...I hear that, that's how I am as well, but I have higher fishy hopes for my beasties....to me, fish stick's and deep fried fish is about as far as I can go.
ReplyDeleteMaria,
I can just immagine her eating the sardines, when did she discover she was a sardine eating champ?
