Snow Day

Woke up to much snow this morning, and it's still snowing. The kids are bugging me to get out the sled and let them go sledding today, it's really pretty. I'm feeling so homebodish today, I guess that is because winter is setting in.

Last night we went out to dinner.

Something as simple as Pizza Hut. How can this feel so good? I think it is because for so many years now, we haven't been able to take the kids many places, and they are getting old enough to not only behave, but to actually enjoy themselves.

So I had a great nap with the kidlets, and then Small Son got to go to the neighbors house and play for awhile. While he was gone, I had the small pleasure of having some time alone with Little Miss. We took a shower, and she was so proud of herself for getting herself dressed while I finished my shower.

I actually blow dried my hair and put on some make up, and got dressed. Then Hubby and I gathered both kids up, calling Small Son home, and loaded them up in the carseats and headed off to Pizza Hut. Wow, it felt wonderful to just DO something on a Saturday Night. It was cold out, and warm in there. I had two very dark beers, a salad and a calzone. Kids had pizzas to themselves and Hubby had wings and pizza. Then we went to DQ drive through and got the kids a dipped cone, and came home. Two hours out, and I feel good about getting out.

It seems that we are always so busy with just getting things done, today I decided I wasn't doing anything. I napped with the kids, I took a shower, I went out to dinner and I did no cleaning. I'll do it tomorrow, dirty toilets never go anywhere very far away.

So today is going to be about just being home and enjoying "being."

Maybe I'll feel like writing more later, maybe not, we will see.

  3. Isn't it great just to take a day to enjoy family, friends, things that are important and not worry about the house. Glad to hear you had a nice day and got to go out at night.
