I've been thinking a lot about friends, and friendships. The importance they play in my life, now and in the past.
The thing about blogging, is that it has allowed me to meet, and get to know people I would never meet here in my small town. There are so many of us, out there in our little places in the world, alone, among a few kindred souls and a lot of people that are not so kindred.
Through my blog, I have been able to meet people who are, as Anne in Anne of Green Gables is so fond of saying, "kindred spirits." Friends are the people that get you through the hard spots.
Living where I do, I have met exactly "one" really "kindred spirit". Even when I lived in the big city, they were around more, but they were still few and far in between. Through this world of blogging, somehow Kindred Spirits abound around me.
I have thought about letting some people in my real life in on my little secret called Bearsmountain, but I think I am much more comfortable having a place where I can write about my life with the freedom I need right now. I have let one person read my blog, and that's important to me, that she is able to read it.
So where am I going with this? I just want to say thanks to all of you who have made this journey so amazing. I never imagined when I began this blog over a year ago, that it would come to mean what it does to me. That I would grow to feel connected to so many of you, in so many ways. There are those of you that I am in contact with, and there are those of you, I know stop in on me on a regular basis but don't say anything. Both are great.
I'm not great at responding to comments, but I do read each and every one of them.
I am just in a great mood today, for once. I got to talk to a friend first thing this morning, and last thing last night, and I got super great emails today. I'm going to spend the day with a good friend, and am going to practice taking pictures with the new camera today. I'm loving the new camera.
Catch you on the flip side tonight...
Peace,
OC
Glad that you are feeling so good this morning. No better way to start off a Saturday morning than with a smile on your face and some joy in your heart. Enjoy the day with your friend and your camera.
ReplyDeleteYEA! You sound so good this morning, OC. I am so happy--enjoy this Saturday and all the gifts it brings you!
ReplyDeleteNow...back to work for me!!!
Be well.
Hope the day was all you hoped it would be. It's good to see you feeling good.
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting on my blog, if only because it led me back to yours. I really enjoy reading it. Thank you for sharing yourself in this way. I hope your Saturday is still lovely.
ReplyDeleteOC-
ReplyDeleteJust saw you comment over at Kitty Litter and checked out your blog... Our stories are similar. There are lots of us out her in the blogosphere that figured things out late in life. Like you, blog friends have been a great help to me along the way.
Good Luck ! (hugs)
Here's hoping you have a string of mornings, days that are the UP tip.
ReplyDeleteHoping your Sunday is as wonderful as your Saturday and then some.
ReplyDeleteI hope today is beautiful for you.
ReplyDeleteIsn't blogging interesting? I began my blog because I was sick of having three sisters who insisted on individual emails frequently. I just started the blog and told them to check it if they wanted to know what was going on in my life.
ReplyDeleteIt truly stunned me when I started having a "readership." But, it has been interesting. I mean, where else am I going to meet people from India?
I think letting people in real life know about the Village was a mistake.... one that we can't take back. Just my two cents. :-) glad you're doing well!
