One more post, then I'm off to bed.
This scene is from my very favorite of all movies, The Shawshank Redemtion.
This movie gets to me on so many levels. It makes me think of all the film classes I had in college and how I would like to dissect it for deeper meanings.
"Remember Red, Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing never dies, I will be hoping that this letter finds you, and finds you well, your friend Andy."
I love it, it makes me feel like this is what life is. The love of your friends. The hope of a better life to come. I hope. I hope. Even just watching this small scene, fills me with wonder and the hope of a better time to come. The hope that will see my friends again. HOPE...
Enjoy!

Hope in the world to come is a wonderful thing, unless that hope turns into dead certainty, which has unleashed more violence in this world than I care to recount.
ReplyDeleteGreat scene from a great film. Never gets old.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite movies! I love the line you just pulled out too.
