Yes, I Work On The Phone For A Living

I’ve spent all day on the phone at work.

You know what I am growing to hate, with an intensity known only to rival canned green peas???

RINGBACKS!!

That’s right folks…I hate the suckers.

Here is the scenario:

Someone calls me, or my office and leaves a message for me or us to call them back, usually "immediately".

So dutiful little old me, will call them back, at my earliest convenience, only to be blasted in the ear with “Back In Black”.

That isn’t even the most insulting part of it though. They make you listen to the entire ring back, BEFORE the little voice comes on and say’s “so and so” is not available, please leave me a message.

Since I work for the government, and I call people that probably really do not want to talk to me very much, this can get frustrating…fast.

I don’t get Ring-Backs….not at all.

You have to pay to download them. You don’t get to listen to them yourself. What is the point?

To make someone you don’t like listen to “Back In Black”? The best one I got today was an old Simon and Garfunkle song that had to have been older than the person that had called me.

I’ve come to hate that little bitch that says to me, every other phone call I make…”Please enjoy the music while your party is reached”. Can’t stand her, and if I ever see her, I’m going to throw a cow pie at her.

So folks, do me, and all the people in thankless jobs like me a favor, save the cutesy little tunes for your own personal listening pleasure, and please don’t call me, leave me a message, and force me to call you back and listen to something I’d rather pull my own hair out than listen too.

Over and Out…
Jumping off my soapbox now,
